This new deadline, which definitely gives more flexibility to our customers, does not however change the substantive issue: when and how to take advantage of the constant evolutions of SAP S/4HANA when one is on ECC?
Even if that question doesn’t have the same answer among all user companies, the common denominator is that a move to S/4HANA is still unavoidable. The timing and the path to get there will remain specific to each company.
Some will promote a technical conversion and a subsequent gradual implementation of the new functionalities. Others will want to take advantage of a few innovations from the outset that will provide an immediate return on investment. Finally, some will use the need for business, functional or technical evolution to make their transformation to S/4HANA.
Our role as an SAP partner is to guide our customers in their choice and implementation of this roadmap. Asking the right questions and defining the right strategy in order to maximize our customers' past and future investments must be our priority.
